With 1/3 of the season nearly complete I thought it would be a good time to hand out a report card for the team.
Pitchers

Clay Buchholz: A
Manny Delcarmen: A
John Lackey: C-
Jon Lester: A
Daisuke Matsuzaka: C-
Joe Nelson: INC
Hideki Okajima: C
Jonathan Papelbon: B-
Tim Wakefield: C+
Recap: Clay Buchholz has been a pleasant surprise for many fans, but the confidence the front office placed in him when turning down several trade offers when his name was offered up as compensation has paid off big so far. Buchholz will enter June with 7 wins and an ERA under 3.00 as he takes aim at being a 20-game winner. Jon Lester has been his usual post April self while the rest of the rotation has struggled at times.
Batters
Adrian Beltre: A
Mike Cameron: INC
J.D. Drew: C
Jacoby Ellsbury: INC
Bill Hall: D
Jeremy Hermida: C
Mike Lowell: C
Victor Martinez: C
Darnell McDonald: C
David Ortiz: A
Dustin Pedroia: B-
Marco Scutaro: C-
Jason Varitek: B+
Kevin Youkilis: A
Recap: Dustin Pedoria has struggled lately with the bat leading to some speculation that he might have a knee issue which he denies, his defense still leads the way though which keeps his grade up. Youkilis and Beltre have been solid all season and a huge May for Ortiz gives him a solid A, hard to believe Boston nearly released him in April.
Overall
Pitching: C+
Batting: B+
Recap: The offense and pitching have both had ups and downs, neither has really clicked at the same time, if it does watch out, the team has the talent to go on an extended run.
